The history of International women’s Day is century
old. In 1908, in demand for shorter working hours, better
pay and the right to vote 15,000 women walked in a procession in New York City.
A year later of that incident the Socialist Party of America declared the day
of first women protests as ‘National Woman's Day’.
A German woman named Clara Zetkin proposed the idea of
make the US National Women’s Day as International Women’s day in an International
Conference of Working Women containing 100 women from 17 different countries held
in Copenhagen in 1910. All of them agreed and as a result International Women’s
Day Celebration started.
In1911 Austria, Denmark, Germany, and Switzerland
participated in the celebration of first International Women’s Day. In the year 2022 we
are celebrating the 111th International Women's Day.

On March 8, 1917, ten thousand women of Russia walked
on the street in demand of their voting and other basic rights. The plight of these
women didn’t go unheard and soon they were entitled to Vote. To mark this day
as the victory of women world celebrates International Women’s day on 8th
